Little Eliza came for her newborn session with Susan Sharpes Newborn Photography when she was a fresh 12 days old.
Eliza was so petite in everyway, with gorgeous chubby cheeks, the most incredible head of dark wavy hair, and with Irish heritage on dad's side her skin was beautiful.
Needless to say I fell in love with her straight away.
Mum and dad bathed her and gave her a full feed before they left home which made for a settled and sleepy little lady. Settled babies make for equally relaxed parents during their session making it more enjoyable for them too.
As a light and airy newborn photographer I was thrilled that mum had the same vision and we happily planned a timeless, sophisticated session with minimal props, and adornments. I love this style of photography as baby becomes the focus of the image rather than lots of textures, and props.
The chin on hands pose would be one of the most requested poses during a newborn session with Susan Sharpes Photography. This is often eased into as the pose above where baby is first put into the more relaxed and self supportive position (dad was used as 'spotter' in case Eliza startled suddenly.)
Eliza's head is then gently and slowly eased into a more upright position. Dad keeps his finger gently against her head to support it and in post processing his finger and hand are removed. Baby safety is at forefront of every single pose captured. These two poses require a calm and settled baby to pull the image off and Eliza mastered that one perfectly.
Such a gorgeous couple, with little Eliza who now makes them a precious little family.
